We're
moving from the Information Age into an Age
of Experience
Information
Overload
The information age has been a very exciting
one... technology opens doors to global connections
and business growth that were previously unavailable
to all but the large corporations. Never before
have entrepreneurs or small business owners
had the ability to connect with clients and
customers world-wide with such ease.
It's
easy to become trapped by technological tools...
on call 24/7 with cell phone in hand and email
taking up far too much time, energy and attention.
Looking
up information on the World Wide Web can be
a laser focused, efficient way of finding what
one requires quickly and easily or it can distract
us for hours at a time. In fact, we can move
from website to website and forget what we were
originally looking for.
The
truth is that
many people don't feel productive, useful or
purposeful unless they're involved in "busy-ness".
The ability of technology to keep us connected
has morphed into information overload and a
lack of attention on what matters most.
Technology
and accompanying information overload has given
us a way to avoid our discontent or feelings
of inadequacy. Instead of exploring our discontent
and allowing it to guide us to something that
could transform our lives, we can keep long
"to do" lists, spend our time running
from one meeting to a phone call to our inbox...
feeling exhausted and empty at the end of the
day... then wake up and do it again the next.
The
Age of Experience
Many
of us are not willing to settle for busy-ness
and our purchasing habits are changing to reflect
our desire for connections, relationships and
an experience beyond the familiar "compare,
choose and buy".
Value
is found in the experience that we receive when
we purchase a product or service. We feel an
attraction to a particular provider or source
rather than to the purchase itself. This is
the new way of doing business. This kind of
connection, along with the global possibilities
offered by technology, open doors for those
willing to realize their potential to transform
their lives and businesses on purpose.
Purchasing
habits are changing to reflect a desire for
connections, relationships and an experience
beyond the familiar "compare, choose and
buy".
Evolutionary
Entrepreneurs
An evolutionary entrepreneur
is an ordinary person who chooses to step into
the extraordinary and move beyond
the familiar and traditional. The longing to
live a passionate and purposeful life and the
commitment to finding your way is a journey
like no other.
The
traditional marketing techniques, "urgency"
based slippery slope sales letters and the step
by step, detailed business building plans don't
entice us or, when they do, can lead to disappointment.
As an entrepreneur, they haven't worked for
us, even though logically it appears that they
should. Some of us have spent many thousands
of dollars on systems or technology, with little
or no real results.
External
tools or resources are NOT the first step. Connecting
internally first gives us the power of clarity
and THEN we can use the tools and processes
and step-by-step guides to connect on a global
scale.
An
evolutionary entrepreneur senses the power of
unseen forces... if you recognize
that you can tap into universal energy flow
and experience a momentum that is beyond what
you can strategize or plan for, you may be an
evolutionary entrepreneur.
An
evolutionary entrepreneur is willing to share
and serve right now... they don't
wait to learn more, be more or do more before
they serve others. They understand that it's
about the experience and do what it takes to
communicate that with confidence and the power
of clarity.
We've
had it backwards... technological
tools are supports to enable us to share and
connect with the community that's waiting to
support our work. First we must recognize the
brilliance that we're meant to communicate and
understand how we're meant to share and connect.
